Malad Trap Shoot Draws Strong Competition and Community Spirit
The Malad Trap Shoot wrapped up three successful weeks of competition, bringing together shooters of all ages and skill levels for a showcase of precision, sportsmanship, and community pride.
During the first week of shooting, the high team honors—and a $150 Ace Hardware gift card—went to the team of Nick Watkins, Ted Williams, Cayson Stark, Jack Miller, and Rowan Gonzales. Their strong performance set the tone for the rest of the event.
In week two, the high team, earning a $50 Ace Hardware gift card, included Rulon, Parker McFarlane, Wayne Thomas, Caden Price, and Trapper Crockett. The momentum continued into the third week, where another $50 Ace gift card was awarded to the top team of Brycen C., Zeb Parker, Carson, Colton Fielding, and Alysha Bingham.
Overall team standings were highly competitive. Taking first place overall was the team of Rulon, Parker McFarlane, Wayne Thomas, Caden Folse, and Trapper Crockett. Finishing in second place was the consistent team of Nick Watkins, Ted Williams, Cayson Stark, Jack Miller, and Rowan Gonzales. Third place honors went to Clint Hinck, Chris, Todd, Brody Conger, and George Palmer.
Individual achievements were also recognized across several classes. High Class winners included Enoch Ward, Cole Allman, Jack Miller, Austin Atkinson, and Preston Snitker.
Top individual honors went to Nick Watkins as Top Gun, highlighting an outstanding overall performance throughout the shoot. Colleen Tanner earned High Lady honors, while Jon Hicks was recognized as High Veteran. Kenny Clough claimed High Junior, and Maon Rojas took home High Sub Junior honors.
The Malad Trap Shoot continues to be a well-supported local tradition, bringing together competitors and spectators alike. With strong participation and impressive shooting across all divisions, this year’s event once again demonstrated the talent and camaraderie that make the sport a staple in the Malad community.
