County Hall of Fame Inductees announced

Last year, Deb and Spence Horsley, as well as Jean Thomas were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Oneida County Hall of Fame is proud to announce the inductees for 2025. Elton Ashton will be honored for public service, especially his service to the military veterans of Oneida County and the State of Idaho.  Roslyn Brimhall will be honored for service to education, especially as a girls’ sports coach and English teacher at Malad
High School. 

The inductees will be honored at the 14th Hall of Fame banquet on Monday, May 19, at the Event Center at the Fairgrounds. Family, friends, and the public are invited to come to the dinner to honor this year’s inductees. A catered dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., but the inductees will be there ahead of time to visit with friends and neighbors.

Tickets for the banquet are $30 and can be obtained from Susan Wittman (208-709-6888) or at the Malad City Office.  Only limited tickets will be available at the door so please get your tickets ahead of the date.

The newest members of the Hall of Fame will be recognized at Malad High School’s graduation on Wednesday, May 21.

Those who have been inducted to the Hall of Fame in the past are LaDell Andersen, John V. Evans, Mabel Jones Gabbott, William M. Jardine, William J. Rutter, Jim Williams, Lucile Harrison, Marvin Hess, Myra Jean John, Ralph R. Harding, Colen Sweeten, Jr., Conrad C. Alder, Stan and Erma Thomas, Dennis and Brenda Thomas, Helen Jean Jones, O.H. Mabey, Curt Hoskins, Terry Jones, Florence Ipsen Bowman, J.D. Williams, Darl Gleed, Gene and Kay Caldwell, Leon J. (Don) Castleton, Mark Howard, Ed and Wendy Jones, Thomas H. and Margaret Williams, M. Joe Davis, Terrill Schwartz, Jean Thomas, and Spence and Debbie Horsley. Their plaques are on display in Malad High School.

Members of the 2024-25 Oneida County Hall of Fame Committee are Chair Tom Jenkins, Vice-Chair Nacona Smith, Secretary Susan Wittman, Gene Caldwell, Kay Caldwell, Chris Jensen, Sharee Blaisdell, Diane Andersen, and Terrill Schwartz.
