Malad Students decorate Idaho Tree in DC

The amazing honor of decorating the state tree on the mall in Washington, D.C. began last year for students of Krystal Fonnesbeck’s art classes when she was contacted by the state.  Each of the trees on the mall are designed to represent their home states, and the students of Malad High School were selected as the best representative of the what the state was.  Fonnesbeck was flown to D.C. for the opening ceremony.  “It was amazing!” she said, and promised to explain more about the event in coming days.  At present, she and her students are busy preparing for their own winter art show.  As many of the students whose art was featured on the national tree will be in attendance, we will report back to you after speaking with them about their art work.
